Nancy found solace in writing poetry, releasing her emotions through the written word. Now, in A Return From Grief, she will take you through her personal journey of loss and share her emergence from grief into life once again. With honest, genuine emotion, Nancy fills the pages of this book with the lessons she has learned from living through the death of her beloved former husband. She offers solace and comfort to those enduring similar experiences.

About The Book
Loss strikes. One’s beloved has departed… Surviving this excruciating experience is quite challenging.
“I asked for direction to survive and create wellness again. I was guided to find my answer in nature.
My best friend, terrier Benny, paced frantically. ‘Take me out.’ He seemed to be saying. Despite my sadness, I agreed. Our adventure would be life-changing.
On this evening walk to a nearby lake, Benny and I discovered Canada Geese jabbering loudly. We wondered what they were sharing. Over time, louder and louder they chattered. We waited. Something important was at hand.
Suddenly, they rose above the water in a perfect V formation, flying above the sunset. They had been making their plan! Each followed their partner as agreed… it took time to reach a consensus, but a perfect proposal had been created plus an AHA! moment for me!
I too, must make a plan! While watching this skein of geese, I was inspired! I desperately wanted to reach light and wellness again. I must soothe my pain. I need words to describe my anguish and a route to soothe it.
‘I KNOW WHAT TO DO… I will write a book,’ I declared … Perhaps I could help others as well. A RETURN FROM GRIEF: LESSONS OF THE GEESE WAS CONCEIVED ALONG THIS SHORELINE.
Daily observation ensued. I learned about their loyalty, empathy, support, and cooperation. My writing flowed.
I chose prose to portray my voyage. Each passing month brought noticeable change. My poems allowed me to express the depth of my awareness and outlook. I assembled non-fiction research and combined it with a soft approach. Great love and effort went into this book.
EVERYONE GRIEVES DIFFERENTLY. THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG WAY. KNOW YOU WILL BE HONORED IN THIS BOOK… YOU MAY FIND YOURSELF ON THESE PAGES.
Understanding grief, creating healthy boundaries, suggestions for self-advocacy, and professional resources fill the pages. Holding your beloved in the symbols and glory of nature can be yours as you read…”

I read this book after my mother passed unexpectedly. It was just what I needed; the language and imagery are a soothing salve for a battered heart. She is gentle, loving, and compassionate; giving her heart and experience.
